Balvenie 12 Year Old The Sweet Toast of American Oak / Story No.1 - 

This is the first part of a three-bottle 2019 release from Balvenie distillery, entitled The Stories. 'The Sweet Toast of American Oak' is the first in the series, a 12 year old matured initially in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in virgin American oak, toasted on-site at the Balvenie cooperage.

Balvenie 14 Year Old The Week of Peat / Story No.2

Titled 'The Week of Peat', this peated 14 year old is the second part of a three-bottle 2019 release from Balvenie distillery, entitled The Stories. Since 2002, one week of the year is set aside at Balvenie to use peat in their malting kiln, and the whisky produced from it is set aside for an annual limited release. 

Balvenie 17 Year Old The Week of Peat / Story No.2

This is part of a three bottle 2019 release from Balvenie distillery, entitled The Stories.

The Stories series includes 'The Sweet Toast of American Oak' and 'A Day of Dark Barley.'

Released in 2021 this is the 17 year old version as opposed to the 14 of previous releases.

 

Balvenie 19 Year Old The Edge of Burnhead Wood / Story No.6

The Edge of Burnhead Wood is the sixth release in Balvenie's Stories range. This whisky has been aged for 19 years and has been produced with 100% of the ingredients sourced from the Balvenie distillery estate.
 

Balvenie 26 Year Old A Day of Dark Barley / Story No.3

This is part of a 3-bottle 2019 release from Balvenie distillery, entitled The Stories.

'A Day of Dark Barley' is the third in the series, and is bottled from single cask #6856. This was distilled in 1992 when an erroneous dselivery of dark barely inspired an experiment that would eventually lead to the 14 year old Roasted Malt release in the mid-2000s. This cask was left to further mature until it was 26 years old

Distillery Information

The Balvenie distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Dufftown, Scotland, owned by William Grant & Sons.

In early 1892 work began to convert an 18th-century mansion (Balvenie New House) into a distillery.

The building took fifteen months to complete, and on May 1st 1893, the first distillation took place at the Balvenie Distillery.
