The Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 8 was a run of only 2,700 bottles with an ABV of 50.2%.
The Malt Master himself, David Stewart, hand-picked nine traditional American oak barrels and three European oak sherry casks for Batch 8 creating a rich and fruity whisky which is characterised by citrus fruits, vanilla and honey.

Distillery Information
The Balvenie distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Dufftown, Scotland, owned by William Grant & Sons.
In early 1892 work began to convert an 18th-century mansion (Balvenie New House) into a distillery.
The building took fifteen months to complete, and on May 1st 1893, the first distillation took place at the Balvenie Distillery.
